Thaskaraveeran will be the next release for Mammotty after Thommanum Makkal.
Years ago two thieves- Peeli(Janardanan) and Itti(Spadikam George) migrated from Travancore. They brought up their sons kuttappan (Rajan.P.Dev) and Iippachan(Innocent) to be thieves. Kuttapan’s ten year old son Kochu Baby (Mammotty) sees his grandfather (Janardanan) being killed by Iippachan and runs away from home terrified.
Years passed, Iippachan became a rich man. Kochu Baby who ran away reaches Mumbai and after many years becomes an underworld don there. But all these while all he wanted was to take revenge on Iippachan and when the opportunity presented he returned to his village for that purpose.
In his village he had to deal with many unexpected happenings and people. One such person is egg-selling girl-Thankamani (Nayanthara) also Meenakshi (Sheela) who was the sweetheart of Peeli and is like a grandmother to Kochu Baby. Rest of the story deals with the clash between Kochu Baby and Iippachan.
Innocent plays a negative character after a long time (after film ‘keli’ with Jayaram). After playing a very likable father character to Mammotty in ‘Vesham’ it would be interesting to see how he can carry out the villain in this film. This is sure to challenge his acting skills.
This is Nayanthara’s first Malayalam film after she became popular nation wide for playing heroine in Rajanikanth’s tamil film ‘Chandramukhi’. She was last seen playing an ultra glamorous (by Malayalam film standards) role in Tamil film ‘Ayya’. After this film released a section of her fans were furious at her because her skin show was below dignity and beyond what any Malayalam film actress has done in the recent past in tamil. It would be interesting to see if her fans have forgiven her. Sheela plays yet another important character. Siddique, Rias Khan, Salim Kumar, Mohan Jose etc plays important roles.
